Choose the kind of evening

Bukhara and Indian Accent offer different reasons to plan a Delhi dinner. One centres a North-West Frontier-inspired, tandoor-led identity; the other describes inventive Indian cooking using global ingredients and techniques. Neither needs to be declared the universal winner. Begin with the food and the occasion. Do you want to share breads and selected dishes, or spend time with a more structured menu? Make that choice before letting awards or a difficult reservation decide what you are hungry for.

Bukhara: breads, tandoor and its dal

Bukhara at ITC Maurya describes dishes such as Dal Bukhara, tandoor-cooked meats and vegetables, and Naan Bukhara. These explain the restaurant’s established direction without turning a brand’s own praise into a first-hand verdict. Ask about portions and choose a meal that fits the group. A few shared dishes can make more sense than one famous item per person. Vegetarian options are part of the description, but specific requirements and cross-contact still need discussion with the restaurant.

Indian Accent: a different menu language

Indian Accent’s New Delhi page places it at The Lodhi on Lodhi Road and describes both à la carte and a chef’s tasting menu. Its approach connects Indian flavours with ingredients and techniques from elsewhere, making it a different proposal from a straightforward tandoor meal. Check the current menu and the format available for your service. A tasting menu, optional pairing and à la carte order are different commitments of time and money. Ask whether the whole table needs the same format and how dietary changes are handled.

The reservation is part of the choice

Confirm the exact venue, service, party size and booking terms. These are hotel restaurants at different addresses, not adjacent stops for a casual food crawl. Plan the journey and leave enough time to arrive without turning dinner into a traffic deadline. Ask about deposits, cancellation and any minimum or menu requirements before reserving. A booking confirmation does not automatically include drinks, a pairing or every item mentioned on a restaurant page. Dress and age requirements should also come from current restaurant information.

Compare the complete meal

Use the current food price, likely drinks, taxes and any applicable charges to compare the evening. A headline menu number is not the final bill. Expensive does not mean personally right, and a familiar signature does not mean every diner will want the same order. Choose Bukhara for its stated tandoor-led direction, or Indian Accent for its stated inventive menu approach, when that is the evening you want. Keep the final details with the restaurant. The aim is a meal you chose knowingly, not a photograph proving you visited a famous name.

Alkauser: a kebab-led alternative

Alkauser's own site describes its Kakori kebab tradition. Choose it for a kebab-led meal and confirm the exact outlet, current menu and seating rather than assuming an older Chanakyapuri recommendation identifies today's branch. Ask about meat, ingredients and portion size. The operator's family history is its own account, not independent proof of every origin claim.

Moti Mahal: keep the restaurant and origin claims separate

A current third-party listing identifies Moti Mahal in Daryaganj. That gives a specific restaurant lead, not proof of a disputed claim about who invented butter chicken. Choose the actual food, branch and setting, and check current service directly. Do not confuse similarly named restaurant groups or use a historical superlative as a reason to ignore the menu and total bill.

Kallu Nihari: confirm a narrow food plan

A current Zomato listing identifies Kallu Nihari in Daryaganj. Use it as a third-party lead and confirm the actual counter, service and availability directly, especially if one dish is the whole reason for the journey. A slow-cooked preparation can sell out, and a general listing does not establish a particular serving time. Ask about meat and richness, and make it the meal rather than another compulsory tasting after dinner.
